Toronto Pillow Fight
The Toronto Pillow Fight is our contribution to the International Pillow Fight Day celebration, and is held on the first weekend of April. The modern incarnation of this pastime was adopted by the flash mob culture, and by 2008 over 25 cities around the world participated in the first ever "international flash mob" Large pillow fights have been organized before, usually in an effort to break the Guinness World Record. The current world record is a pillow fight that consisted of 3,706 participants from Minehead, Somerset, England in 2008.
I remember the first time I hear of International Pillow Fight day, I didn't really think that it was a good idea. Don't get me wrong I like the idea of a good pillow fight as much as the next guy, I just thought that there were too many things that could go wrong.
Fortunately I was wrong, I have attended two pillow fights and both were good natured and fun. A testament to both the organizers and the people of Toronto. Even our photographer who was apprehensive at first said "it was great to see so many people having fun"
